JBS announces 2017 Texas Leadership Forum Chairman Selection – Mr. Evan Thomas


Odessa, TX – The John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute announces the selection of Mr. Evan Thomas as Chairman of the JBS 2017 Texas Leadership Forum (TLF) Leadership Team. The job of the Leadership Team is to plan the annual TLF, including determining tracks and themes, obtaining speakers, and marketing the conference throughout the state.
Evan Thomas Headshot jpgEvan Thomas serves as District Director for United States Representative K. Michael Conaway, serving in that position since September of 2012. Joining the staff in March of 2010, he previously served as District Representative and then Deputy District Director. As District Director, Evan oversees the office’s operations within the twenty-nine counties of the 11th Congressional District of Texas.  In that role, he supervises six  district offices and staff, supports constituent service work, coordinates events in Texas, and acts as a liaison between constituents and Representative Conaway.  Evan is a member of the Board of Directors for Young Professionals of Odessa and an active member of Young Professionals of Midland. Evan is a native of Lubbock and graduate of Texas Tech University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.  West Texas is his home.


The JBS Texas Leadership Forum is an esteemed annual event with two goals: (1) provide a unique and powerful way to unite established Texas leaders with young aspiring leaders for the purposes of leadership education, mentoring, coaching, and addressing the topmost state challenges in support of the Texas Legislature; and (2) recognize selected outstanding Texas leaders in various categories, including induction into the Texas Leadership Hall of Fame. Participants gain valuable insights and develop relationships with some of our state’s foremost leaders in business, politics, education, and the judiciary.
